The Zoning Hearing Board of South Union Township is a five-member board that votes on special exceptions, variances, changes to nonconforming uses, and appeals of the Code Enforcement Officer. The Board of Supervisors also hears and decides rezoning petitions. Applications for the above zoning petitions can be picked up at the Township Office. Once an application is submitted and the appropriate fees have been paid, then a public hearing will be scheduled.

Meeting Dates and Fees
All South Union Township Zoning Hearing Board meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted in The Herald Standard newspaper.

Zoning Hearing Board Members
Louis Agostini has been on the Zoning Hearing Board since 2007. Louis is married to Darlene and they have 4 children – Louis, Christina, Vincent, and Nicholas. Louis is a 1981 graduate of Laurel Highlands High School. He is the current owner of Weeger Contracting and Development and also works with Uniontown Builders Supply and Uniontown Construction Company. Louis has served our community in many ways including filling positions as past President of the Uniontown YMCA, Trustee of the Uniontown YMCA, Chestnut Ridge Counseling Board Member, Fayette County Planning and Zoning Board Member, and Trustee of Grace Community Church.
Daniel Glitz has been on the Zoning Hearing Board since 2005. Daniel is married to Mary Jane and they have 3 children – Deborah Curtis, Danielle Fortney, and Darin Glitz. Daniel served in the United States Army and served on the South Union Township Planning Commission until 2010. He was also employed as a highway designer with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and project manager with McCormick Taylor (Consultant with the PA Turnpike on the Mon-Fayette Expressway).
Lauren Yohman was appointed to the Zoning Hearing Board in 2014. She and her husband Bradley have two children, Connor and Charley. She is a graduate of Laurel Highlands H.S. and has a B.A in Business Administration from Washington & Jefferson College. Lauren currently runs a State Farm Agency in the area and is committed to contributing to her community. She serves as a board member of Crime Stoppers of Fayette County, the Laurel Highlands Academic Foundation and is a sitting Fayette Country Jury Commissoner.
Craig Baker was appointed to the Zoning Hearing Board in 2016. Craig is married to wife Courtney and they have two beautiful children, Lucy and Owen. He is a graduate of Laurel Highlands High School and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Baker has worked the past 19 years as a construction manager in residential construction and the development industry.
Chad Miller was appointed to the Zoning Hearing Board in 2016. Mr. Miller is a 1995 graduate of Laurel Highalnds High School and a resident of South Union Township. Chad obtained his post secondary education degree in teaching at California University of Pennsylvania. He currently is a social studies teacher at Laurel Highlands High School where he has been employed since 1999. In addition to teaching, he and his family also own Windows Doors and More, where he is heavily involved in the business and the building and construction industry.
