Ordinances

An ordinance of the Township of South Union regulating animals and fowl running at large, providing for impounding and for sale or disposition of impounded animals.

Prohibiting abandonment of vehicles; restricting the disposition or keeping of wrecked, non-operating, or discarded vehicles on streets or private property; providing for impounding of certain vehicles; and imposing penalties.

Requiring that all garbage and refuse be conveyed to the township approved dump for ultimate disposal; indicating the manner of preparing and packing garbage and refuse for collection and disposal; prohibiting the disposal of garbage within the limits of the Township from without; and prescribing penalties for violation.

Requiring all persons, partnerships, businesses and corporations to obtain a building permit for the construction, reconstruction, enlargement, alteration, or relocation of any building or structure: providing for the issuance of such building permits; and providing for penalties for any persons who fail or refuse to comply with the requirements or provisions of this ordinance.

Providing for the vacation, removal, repair, or demolition of any building or structure which is or threatens to be a public nuisance, dangerous to the health, morals, safety, or general welfare of the people of the township of south union, or which might tend to constitute a fire menace; and for the assessment of the cost of vacation, removal, repair, or demolition thereof as a municipal lien or assessment against such premises, and to provide for the recovery of such costs in an action at law.

Providing that no public streets of the Township of South Union be opened or cut by an person; firm, corporation or utility without first securing a permit in accordance with the township code, and providing penalties for the violation thereof.

This ordinance shall be known as the Zoning Ordinance of South Union Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
